Urban Shaman (The Walker Papers, Book 1)

Urban Shaman (The Walker Papers, Book 1) - C.E. Murphy The Particulars: Urban Fantasy, Luna, available both in print and e-bookWhy was it in my TBR? Because I wanted to read something good. The Review:The blurb:Joanne Walker has three days to learn to use her shamanic powers and save the world from the unleashed Wild Hunt.No worries. No pressure. Never mind the lack of sleep, the perplexing new talent for healing herself from fatal wounds, or the cryptic, talking coyote who appears in her dreams. And if all that's not bad enough, in the three years Joanne's been a cop, she's never seen a dead bodybut she's just come across her second in three days. It's been a bitch of a week. And it isn't over yetMy impressions:This is C.E Murphy’s debut novel, and it is a gem. She have created an intresting Alternative Seattle, with an intresting mix of Celtic and Native American. All Jo want is to be a mechanic. Not a shaman. Her skeptism towards the Spirit World is understandable. As the story goes on, she reluctantly accept that it accept. There are opportunities for her to back down, to step away. She ignores them. Instead she recklessly jumps into situations that leaves her butting heads with gods and Captains. It’s hard to explain what makes this so good. Is it the characters, the plot, or the world? It is all of it. Together they create a fascinating mixture that hooks you on C.E. Murphy’s writing.
